  Instructor : Dr. F. Kufiashi

  Duration : One week

Objectives

This  course provides an introduction to geology and petroleum geology for drilling and petroleum engineers. Delegates will be instructed in the physical and chemical properties of the major sedimentary rocks and will be able to examine hand specimens of all the major rock types. The origin, migration and trapping of hydrocarbons is covered together with a review of key sedimentary and geological features such as folding and faulting. A comprehensive manual and is presented in an informal style to promote maximum participation and discussion.
